I don't see the issues that this user is talking about. Then again this is a "gaming monitor" and I use it for "gaming"

Curve (if you like that)
Inputs/Features
VA for richer contrast
Gigabyte Cons:
Ghosting and smearing in dark scenes
More prone to losing DP/HDMI link/black screening in my experience
HP Pros:
Flat (if you like that)
IPS with much better out of the box color and pixel response times
HP Cons:
Bare bones
Blacks look grey in a dark room
I kept the HP and think most people would be happier with it. If it goes on sale soon or if you find a refurb on eBay or from HP, it's a good buy too.

I haven't noticed any Gray smearing on mine while gaming after calibration. God of war. Cod. Etc
Any calibration settings that you recommend?
