Ego almost never has any discounts on their products and this new snowblower is $50 cheaper than other retailers at $549 after you clip the $50 coupon (price shown at checkout).
This is the 3rd generation Ego snowblower that was just released this year. It's self-propelled, heated handle, rubber auger.

The 1st gen model is not self propelled. With this model, the rubber auger makes some contact with the ground apparently and moves the entire machine with it. It's obviously not as good as powered wheels, but it's a worthwhile feature. Also the throwing distance on this model is 45 get vs 30 on your model.
Also be aware - this does NOT include batteries and you need two 3rd generation 5ah+ to run properly. 1st generation without the fuel gauge do not work well in any of the snow blower products.
Best price deals for EGO products are the kits on sale that include one or two batteries. Often the tool ends up being $25-50 more than the batteries alone and includes a charger.
Never had that issue when blowing snow with my Ego leaf blower. I have done this for a number of years too (older and newer leaf blowers alike). Defective unit?
