For those trying to decide between this 45 and the 35(equiv) deal the following reddit discussion might be of use: https://www.reddit.com/r/anker/co...35_or_q30/ The main take home is the Q35 has better bass feel than the 45/30, but the 45 has better NR and a more comfortable head feeling than either the 30/35. If you're looking for bass above all else in the Q range, the 35 is your runaway option. For comfort and mid/high tonal quality the 45. They all are EQ adjustable via the app and all feature the incredible transparency function so you can hear your music and (most of) the world around you.

Any difference in the mic quality for calls between them?

Do these have a low latency gaming mode? I can't find it in the specs but they came out simultaneously with the Space A40s which do.

In theory the 45 should have noticeably better call quality due to the extra mic for noise control (especially when anc is on), but it's not really noticably better with a hit or miss service provider without noise control on according to a friend who went from q35 to 45 on Fi in Portland. The q35 is quite better than the 20 in my experience both with anc on and off, but I've not had a 30 to compare it to.

I had the Q45 for a week and returned it because I disliked the sound so much. It sounds hollow and nasally with zero depth. It's sort of like listening to music with your hands cupped over your ears, or placing placing plastic cups over your ears while listening to music through speakers. It's weird and I thought it sounded pretty bad. EQ helps but it doesn't completely get rid of that muffled sound or add back any depth. I also found the treble to be pretty harsh with the stock EQ but that was fixable.

This website has a sound sample from the Q45 that does a pretty good job of showing what it sounds like (best to listen with headphones).

https://www.loudnwireless.com/soundsamples

Scroll down to the bottom for the Space Q45 sample.

If you can get past the sound, they aren't bad headphones. The ANC isn't as good as Sony or Bose but it is decent, and the ear pads are deep and wide so they don't squish your ears. The headband adjustment is odd, though, in that when you make them bigger they get wider at the top of the ear cup and don't move the cups up and down at all, so they end up pushing more on your upper jaw at the bottom of the ear cup. If you have a wide head it shouldn't be an issue, but if you need the placement of the ear cups to move down more (i.e. if you have a taller head) these might be uncomfortable for you.

For $100 they're definitely worth a shot to see if you like them. They just didn't work for me.

Which headphones are you comparing the Q45 too? Like what are examples of headphones where you do like the sound quality?

I tried them side by side with the Momentum 3. The sound of the M3 was much more full and enjoyable. I ended up returning those, too, though, because the ANC was not good at all for office use. I also own the Philips Fidelio L3 which I enjoy sound wise and the ANC is decent but I had to give them to my wife because the ear cups are too small for me. I also have a cheap set of Motorola Bluetooth headphones that I got for free with a phone purchase in 2015 and IMO even those sound a lot better than the Q45.

I'm not saying nobody will like them since sound is subjective, I'm just sharing my experience. Like I said, for $100 they're worth a try to see if you like them since you can always return them if you don't.

Anyone have any comments on the ANC for the money? Is there anything better in this price range? I recently discovered that I get overstimulated in airports and on the plane and it leads to me being a very nervous flyer. I'm not worried about sound quality since I normally just wear cheap wired earbuds to travel.

This is probably the best ANC you'll get for $100.

I bought these 2 weeks ago for $129 at BestBuy and the following are my observations:

Pros:
1. ANC is very good though there is a little bit of vacuum feeling owing to the extent of NC maybe
2. Call quality is really good and the people on the other end do not complain about any ambient noise getting picked up even when I am in a moderately noisy environment
3. Audio quality is really good and the Signature EQ preset has this BassUp feature that boosts lower frequencies and gets your head thumping.
4. LDAC can be activated through the app and it absolutely gives an upgraded aural experience. You hear a lot more detail when using the LDAC option.
5. Battery life is really good. At work I sit close to an air conditioner vent and that thing was the reason I bought an ANC headphone in the first place. So I wear the headset most of the day at work and still I have charged my headphone only once in the past 2 weeks. (That's insane)
6. App gives you a lot of customization of the EQs, Transparency, NC modes as well as auto power off, notification sound toggles etc.

Cons:
1. The material of the earpads is not leather and the material heats up your ears over prolonged use. I mean 2-3 hrs usage at a time would end up being a little uncomfortable.
2. Does not have Fast Pair (for Android) or NFC even but that is a one-time setup anyway for any new device so no biggie.
3. Enabling LDAC is only possible through the soundcore app and it will disable multi device pairing.
4. There is no auto pause when headphone removed feature like some of the expensive headsets and that may be a problem for some. Especially if you are listening to loud music and need to remove the headphones for a brief moment, the sound will continue and people may notice that.
5. This is a big one and definitely a deal breaker for many but completely dependent on the head size and fit. The headphones has a strong clamping effect because of the head band material. I feel a strong pressure on my ears and jaw and it gets really uncomfortable soon. Some reviewers said that we can put the headphone on some box while it is not being used to permanently expand the band a little but I think that will take a lot of time to achieve it

Overall, I disagree that all the youtube reviewers were paid shills. I think my experience is aligning with what many youtubers said. This is a genuinely high-quality product irrespective of the price and when you factor in the price, this ends up being a definite buy.

Came here to post this. I waited too long on the Q35 deal and missed out. I think these are an acceptable and economical alternative to the Sony XM4 that is currently available for $228.

I'm not too picky about sound, and I'm mostly just looking for (very) good ANC. I have some older Sony ANC headphones from ~2016. They're good, but I'm finding that the ANC does not even come close to the XM4 or Bose QC45.

Just picked mine up. Awesome sound. It really is amazing what else you can hear in songs when you listen through a quality pair of headphones.
