Yes 12 ah is way better. The 5 ah are more for smaller applications like drills and such

It's mainly the lack of "high output" that you need to worry about with these more demanding tools. A 5AH might technically power it, but if it does, it'll not only be a shorter runtime - it's going to run at diminished speed/power too.

I have 3 5ah i use for most of my milwaulke tools and it runs almost everything with no issue my 3/8 impact wrench, my 1/4 impact drive, my 1/2 inch drill , my ricip saw and the circular saw with a decent run time with no issue. the circular saw a 8ah and up will run it for a long time
