Thanks, OP. Picked one up. Pretty good reviews:

Anyone had any experience with the Asurion extended protection plans [amazon.com]? I don't normally go for extended warranties, but these robovacs seem to break a lot. $20 for 2 years and $26 for 3 years seems pretty reasonable.

Eh… no LIDAR, I'd skip this model.

How is this not a standard feature of all robot vacuums at this point?!

Tempting but reviews indicate that it doesn't do great with cleaning, the brush traps longer hair, gets jammed up with fairly small debris, has issues with mapping correctly, gets stuck fairly easily, and is just all around not as hands off as it should be.

Just do a search of the model number on YouTube and watch any of the reviews.

Looks like the app has issues as well: https://play.google.com/store/app...hark&hl=en

Question: do you think we are likely to get a self-emptying robovac with lidar (new or refurbished) in this price range for BF?

The reviews for the warranty look promising. Seems like a solid investment too given the high failure rate of these Sharks. You will probably end up getting this for just the price of the warranty in the end.
