A poster asked "Any opinions on dji's refurbished products? My son is saving for a good drone and this is the package I'm looking at. TIA!"

I was waiting to purchase a refurbished DJI drone reburbished by DJI themselves because the drone includes the regular DJI warranty on top of eBay's 2 year refurbished warranty. I thought it was a safer bet than a refurbished unit from a third party.

On the listing page, it says:

Tested By Experts. Ready For You.
Every DJI Refurbished aircraft is thoroughly tested by DJI Experts and includes DJI standard warranty.

There are no better experts in DJI products than those at DJI. Every refurbished product has undergone a professional refurbishing process that brings it up to the same high standards as brand new products, and all refurbished products come with new parts, new packaging and DJI's standard Manufacturer Warranty. They never sell this under $400. It is just ebay have the 15% or 20% coupon to bring the price down to $380ish before. If email still have this promotion soon, most likely will be on Cyber Monday.

everyone should know it appears there is a mini 3 standard drone about to hit the market shortly which is simply a step down from the mini 3 pro so it's cheaper but in all case, most likely a better drone than the mini 2 and still mostly suitable for the newbie.

The mini 2 isn't a perfect quadcopter but for the price point it's the best deal out there. The gyro has been known to easily fail on them, when they go out its the end of the line for the quadcopter. Batteries are a little wonky as well, some of them fail with under 20 charge cycles. The camera is okay, you're getting what you pay for here, it shoots 4k video but has issues with colors and exposures. Nothing that can't be fixed in post with premier or photoshop.

The battery life is also sus, I've never flown for 31 minutes on a battery. Average flight time is 20 minutes per battery. Get the dji care plan, its 10% the value of the quadcopter. They'll cover one crash and one fly away for a full year, and I assume equipment failure like when the gyro fails.

Great drone. I bought it during the last sale for $380 with the ebay 15% off coupoon direct from dji refurb.

Only downside is the batteries have to be warmed up if you leave them in a cold car overnight otherwise the drone won't fly. Also
I've never got 30 minutes of flight time, more like 20 minutes.

I am hoping that is accurate also. The eBay page says that it is the official DJI store and is "Direct from DJI"; however Drone Nerds does have a website and this package is on it. We almost ordered a similar refurbished package back in October but then saw it was from dronesuperstore and we didn't want to order from anyone other than DJI. I guess as long as it was refurbished by DJI themselves (as represented) and that it has DJI's warranty I am ok with that. Ours doesn't come for a few more days but I will report back if there is any other information that would be helpful.
