It's a new promotion that similar to the buy one get one they last had before the pandemic started. I'm guessing they are trying to attract customers to store instead of doing everything online.
Since I'm on the One Plan my additional line would be $20 a line. But with this promotion I would get 2 lines for the price of 1 line.

This was a regular T-Mobile emailed out promotion i received today and I called the local T-Mobile store to confirm as well. It's legit for offer to everyone. No link since it's for in store only
