I agree. I have the Costco one and upgraded the RAM to 40GB. With the fan mode set to whisper quiet it is fairly quiet and cool. I compared it with the Lenovo Slim 7 Pro X from Costco (which my friend has) with similar workloads. The Lenovo has two fans and made about the same noise (when set to quiet mode) as this ASUS. The Lenovo's battery life was lower. The Costco ASUS is able to handle a large workload fairly well due to the 40GB of RAM.

This has a 1TB SSD, it doesn't matter much. Next 16GB RAM soldered.

I'd rather prefer this, https://www.costco.com/.product.1649740.html. Same specs except 512GB SSD and 12GB RAM (8GB soldered + 4GB(upgradable upto 32GB)) for $130 less price.

i think 1 of the biggest differences here is weight... this is almost 1lbs lighter

I work in inventor and other 3d CAD software from my couch from time to time. It's almost impossible to navigate a model without a mouse. A touchscreen helps, but not ideal.

Ill give it a shot, I was mistaken on the CPU. This seem faster than the 1280P... I guess i dont understand the difference in the 2 CPU's.
