For a curved computer monitor intended for gaming and media consumption why is that a problem? Viewing angles aren't anissue in that situation and you get better contrast and response time.

I'm so confused by monitor technology these days. My gaming days are behind me and I just use my machine for work and occasionally some youtube videos. My eyes are struggling with my old 20" 1080P monitor so I've been looking for something larger and with better resolution for reading spreadsheets, JSON, and messing with JIRA tickets all day.

Does the curved screen help at all, for things other than video games?
Does IPS vs VA or whatever matter?
Is there anything that should be avoided? I know I want more than 1080P so my fonts aren't pixelated and blurred looking.

You'll enjoy this monitor over your 20" 1080p.

Things to look for in a monitor nowdays:

Flicker free technology (less eye strain)

Low blue light (less eye strain)

High Resolution (you can change scaling in Windows to get everything bigger again -- it does a lot better)

IPS (wider viewing angles than VA panels)

Generally look at a Dell IPS 1440p 27" like the S2721DGF is probably what you want
