first, should I wait for whatever comes in the spring (I've got the m1 macbook air)?
then, what is Costco's warranty I keep hearing about compared to applecare+?
thanks I passed on this last month and regretted it.

Whatever come in spring is still a rumor at the moment. Get it if you need it. I have a feeling that even with the M2 it's not going to be that much faster, from what we learn for the Macbook Air upgrade.
I've had the 8gb model for nearly 2 years now. It is fine for most average user tasks.
If you plan to run a lot of office/work related apps or multiple chrome browsers, you will start noticing a slow down and a lot of writing to disk.

I have the 8gb too. With 5 Safari tabs open, and Youtube video watching I have never had an issue with slow downs.

As we can see, $550 is the lowest price for 8GB version which Apple allows. It sucks, but also guarantees resell value.
