Cannot believe people are still worried about burn in.

Sounds like you had a bad experience and I am sorry you got burned.

This is far from normal experience especially in newer OLEDs.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SlP2kwNqXNA -- 3 year old test so not even latest models. We investigated the risk of OLED burn-in by displaying varying content 20 hours a day on a brand new LG E8 OLED TV for more than 6 months. We found no sign of permanent screenburn after putting on more than 3700 hours on our LG E8, confirming that OLED burn-in is extremely unlikely as long as you vary your content, and put the TV into standby rather than power off at the mains so that the normal compensation cycles can run to clear up image retention and reduce the risk of permanent screenburn.

p.s. I remember people saying this about plasma TVs which had stopped being an issue by mid-time of its popularity cycle. The early plasma had an issue just like OLEDs, then a few releases the manufacturers learn how to handle it. At this point in the OLED technology cycle, for most users who dont leave it on 24 hrs a day watching CNN/ESPN and also don't let the TV run burn-in protection cycles, burn is extremely unlikely.

It's why I avoid most new technologies for several years. OLED is now mature and safe to buy IMHO.

Does this beat the Costco offer? Same price, additional $150 GC, plus burn in coverage (Costco's Allstate does not cover burn in)… is there any additional piece of mind I get from Costco over BuyDig that outweighs all that?

Is it still a thing to call them and ask for the "out the door" price and not pay tax? Some people have reported that with Buydig.

Great question. Any downside to this over Costco?

With Costco you can return, and delivered. Not sure about this deal

$200 gc. buydig's price much better, but some people prefer being able to return in 90days or pickup from store... if that's you, then extras are not worth it..

i have never bought tv from store in the last 20 years, including getting 5-7 of them trashed on delivery...

So, effectively, 5 year warranty with Costco, 4 years here? But it does cover burn-in.

Sorry, yeah I'm looking 65" so only $150 GC. You're saying you don't buy in-store, only delivery? So recommending BuyDig?
