As for the noise , it could be the rollers as well. Many companies rip you off on getting new rollers. They are $4 each (or that is what my husband charges for them including installation, some companies charge $200-300 a set or more, it makes me husband sick when he reads reviews and talks to customers about what they have been charged). Changing rollers is not necessary but if you are looking for very quiet operation and you can install them yourself , for a few dollars it can make a difference in an older door.
This kit comes with lots of extras you might not need, if all you are looking for is a quiet opener. I do not believe there is a cheaper deal then this for a quiet opener (there was an opener under $100 at home depot but it was not super quiet).
If you can afford this, my husband says it is quiet. If you cant install it yourself, look for a handyman or do you pay over $150 to install (unless you live remotely and a gas surcharge is warranted). Another pet peeve , we have been seeing companies charge up to $1k to install openers. Crazy. Just do not want to see any get ripped off. An experinced garage door repairman or handyman should be able to replace this in 1 hour.
If someone is searching for one or has an alert set, they might not find this deal.

I noticed that, too. In one of the asked questions someone says it is the equivalent to 1/2 HP. No idea why they just wouldn't say what it is.

I went with the below model that's also on special with Amazon.
To make the installation even smoother and quieter I recommend replacing the steel idler wheels/rollers with nylon ones.
If you cant easily lift and lower your garage door with one hand, then the springs are not the correct size or broken - my new home had the wrong springs installed making it impossible for my wife to open in the event of a power failure and very difficult for me. The builder call the door supplier back to correct it.

If your door is taller than 7 foot, you'll need the extension kit, for either 8ft or 10ft.

The one I have has all the same accessories and looks the same, but is 3/4 HP. But like someone mentioned above, 1/2 HP will be more than good enough for a home. I got mine for $199 at Home Depot in July 2021 and just got installed this August. I ended up purchasing before I got the recommendation from my buddy who does doors for a living, and he was entirely right. Plus, the MyQ garage door opener is a fantastic bonus. Amazon use to give a rebate for the first in-garage delivery too.

Thanks so much for all of this info! I plan to install mine myself, any tips about the hardware I use to mount to the ceiling? I've read it doesn't come with the metal beams I will need. This has been a confusing part for me, the rest of the installation seems straightforward!
