This isn't going to cause any data loss. You would need a much more powerful magnet to come close to destroying data on hard drives. People have speakers ad headphones near hard drive that have a much bigger magnet than what this has and that doesn't cause any issue. This is even less of a risk on external hard drive since there's another layer protecting it. If you have VHS tape, audio cassette, and floppy disk than yes you be should worry about bringing magnets near them. Modern hard drive aren't going to be affected by any household magnets you would need a magnet with at least 450lb of pull force to cause any damage. Even if you use a strong magnet you will likely damage internal parts first before being able affect any data.

Keep that away from any hard drives/HDDs as the magnets could cause the HDDs to lose some data. I was thinking they were a cool idea and would help me organize my external HDDs & their cabling better but then my head popped outta my rear and I remembered magnets and platter drives don't play nice together. I'll have to stick just to the tried & true rubber(?) guides/holders that have the 3M double-sided tape for the HDDs, especially since I bought a nice amount of that style so I need to put them to get use. But kinda cool idea from Anker, I have some other ideas and projects these may work better with so I might give them a go anyway. 🍻

The magnets in these are too small to cause a problem like that.

According to the price tracker, $12.99 for one is the normal price. This is a two-pack, which historically is $18-20.
