Was shopping for a mesh system for my house.

Since my house is wired, this is the perfect setup for me as I hate most of the other mesh system asks users to pay for the subscription for parental controls.

And here's the review that helped me make up my mind. https://dongknows.com/asus-zenwifi-xd6-vs-xt8-review/ [dongknows.com]

Amazon has it for the same price too.

People still full from turkey. This is a great price and a top notch combo if you can't hardwire your access points

Actually, I would say this combo best suited for wired backhaul since it's dual band only

I have an R7800 which requires restarts maybe once per month. Im thinking its cause of all the smart devices we have. Was wondering if this mesh would be the solution. I have ethernet in my rooms so seems like the specs for ethenet backhaul would work perfectly

Can do, but you might waste the 3rd band of the xt8. https://dongknows.com/asus-zenwif...t8-review/

Yes. But my recommendation is Asus Ax86u to mesh with XT8 and you will see a magic 😆

Isn't a tri-band with a wired backhaul going to be even better?

I thought the general opinion was that dual-band was sufficient for wired backhaul and tri-band was recommended for wireless backhaul.

Yes, the dual band mesh would be equivalent as you don't need the extra 5GHz band since you are wired.

Dong Knows Tech says the same thing here:

It generally doesn't hurt to go the most bands possible, but most of the time, investing in an additional 5GHz band is not money well-spent in a single router or a wired Wi-Fi mesh system.
