Just dropped to $809, but the better deal is they have several warehouse units in stock and they qualify for the extra 20% off, making them $776 - $155 = $621. I went that route

Good generator. I was lucky enough to get a couple of them back during the 2015 Black Friday sale for $499. I've used them both multiple times and they've performed great. They are not inverter generators, so they aren't really very fuel efficient, but when you actually need them for the full rated wattage they get the job done. They are also VERY loud, so if you need to use them in a residential area be sure you place them a good distance away from any occupied buildings.

Edit: one thing that people that buy generators for the first time always seem to be unaware of or forget, is that you need to buy a significant amount of oil to use with your generator. In an emergency situation where you're going to need to run the generator for days or weeks, you're going to need to change the oil, and that can be pretty hard to get ahold of in an emergency. I would recommend stocking up on full synthetic oil to get the longest run time possible.

The $809 price for new 12000EH is over, and the extra 20% on warehouse version of this same model (or any generator) is over as well. I did similar to you and got like new unit for $641 in the wee hours this morning before it disappeared.

For new units, the similar 12000HX (but with added CO sensor) has always been a slightly better deal at $803 new. This one is still available, and if not for the warehouse 12000EH deal I got, would have been my choice at $803 vs. $809. Now it's $803 for the 12kHX vs. $1095 for the 12kEH for new units.

And if you do buy new unit (sold and shipped from Amazon) like this $803 12000HX is, you should be able to tack on American Express bonus to the order if you didn't use it already (mine was $60 off, YMMV for $ amount). See Amazon Amex thread for more info
