I bought the 3000, it's a little bigger than I expected. Excited to try it out
I love my 3000, I bet you will too. I thought about buying another 3000 instead of the 2500 so I would have a parts reel if one of them ever kicks it. But I've really been wanting to try a 2500 for some reason. My 4000 BG feels more like a 5000 reel, so it's a bit big for the inshore fishing I'm doing. That said, I think that it will be great for using as my lighter surf reel. Tight lines!

I use my 2500 for topwater fishing for striped bass. Caught up to 32" stripers no problem with it.

Great to hear. I'm using it for inshore striper/halibut whatever. I put the 3000 on the 7'6" Shimano Teramar SE spinning rod I posted on here last week, balances pretty well

I can't find it cheaper there, but it is competitive.
Yeah, that person is wrong. Hasn't been cheaper on Amazon since 2019 if you check the camel.
