I've yet to try the US version (made in China) but the Japanese version can be had for around $20 more. (But, you'll get the JIS version that uses the 11mm anvil. But I prefer the JIS over the e6 (US) since I use mainly Vessel bits from Japan, and a few PB's).

If you buy it, let me know what you think. I was debating buying the Japanese 40v version (can be had for $160-$180) after watching toolsNstuff's recent comparison video... I gave the 002 and love it, but I'm torn on the 40v impact versions still... makita really broke my 💔 with the 40v palm router cash grab. 😞
