Also—I have to say this again as a warning. If you buy Apple products from Amazon, make sure you aren't going to return it. They have a very strange process with Apple device returns. Only accepted via UPS pickup (no UPS or Kohls drop off) and they will take a full 30 days to refund since they have to inspect thoroughly. I returned an iPad to them that was delivered to Amazon 11/14. Still no refund and have called/chatted multiple times. The iPad was still sealed and it's still taking this long.

It's normally $799.
6% off an Apple peripheral isn't exactly slick, but it's something.
Other than Black Friday/Cyber Monday, you normally have to big-brain your way into a good deal on Apple products, probably through some gift card spamming.

Apple is shifting to gaining revenue via services (Apple TV, Fitness+, etc).
To get people into that walled garden of services, they are reducing the price restrictions on everything except iPhones because (surprise surprise) — there's no point in owning an Apple Watch or Airpods if you don't also have an iPhone. iPads have always had some price reductions available.
Plus consumer discretionary spending isn't where it was in the last two years for obvious reasons.
