Cassandra: Wow. '64 Fender Stratocaster in classic white with triple single coil pickups and a whammy bar.
Wayne: Pre-CBS Fender corporate buy-out.
Cassandra: I'd raise the bridge, file down the nut, and take the buzz out of the low "E."
Wayne: God, I love this woman.
Yeah, normally if you're talking vintage Fender, it's the pre-CBS era that you want, not the 1970s, lol.
Vox is another company that went through some bad management around the same era. The Rose Morris-era Vox amps are an expensive way to burn down your house. https://www.vintageguit
Beyond that, I'd hit up a guitar store and try a few out, see what feels good in your hands. A good employee will be able to point out pros & cons of various sizes and shapes, and things like the finish of the neck (painted necks tend to be grippy, so your hand doesn't slide along it as smoothly). For a beginner, I'd say the two most important things are whether it feels right in your hands and whether it stays in tune worth a damn, lol. (Don't get something with a Floyd Rose or other tremolo for your first guitar.)
As for the amp side, there's a lot of ways to put together a rig these days. If you're just starting out, you might just get a decent recording interface and plug into your computer. Even at the free end, there's some pretty good amp sim software out there these days, like https://ml-sound-lab.com/products/amped-roots
