I've read horror stories of "certified" Geeksquad stuff. I've also received basically "new" open box items under excellent without certification. I don't think the Geeksquad certified comes with any additional warrant either way.
On the same note, I've had a Amazon warehouse certified refurbished laptop shipped to me with broken screen and one with a cracked chasis

Btw, the sale is on for new ones again.
Best Buy, I've returned stuff within the normal window. I know for this laptop the manufacturers 1 year warranty applies, however not the free 1 year accidental damage protection ASUS is giving out right now as well since its not new in box.
