This is USB-A right? Not C? Will this melt? I like the form factor, but I rather not it burn my post consumer recycled plastic chassis! Earth warrior (ululululu)! I'm ululating.

These are USB A. They do get hot under usage, IMO, I would advise against using on a laptop without an extension cord.

Junk. Skip these for two main reasons. 1. They overheat. When they get too hot from transferring data, they slow to a crawl. 2. The plastic that gets inserted into the computer is super thin. It will break. Warranty replacement was horrible. I had to show them reviews on AMZ that tons of others had the exact same problem before they would send me a new one. At first, they said it was damage caused by me, and not by their own design flaws.

Same form factor, and it performs better. Still on sale even though it's more expensive at $23.99. Samsung fit plus

Yeah I had one of these that would get super hot and stopped working then a couple years later was looking for a cheap USB (last month) and got a 64gb and as soon as I started using it remembered that it was an overheating piece of crap that I shouldn't have purchased.... Id avoid these

Yeah, I like to keep copies of all kinds of install programs - various versions of Office, utilities and all sorts of stuff. Cheap drives like this are good for that because you only load them up once and just do it in the background so speed isn't really an issue. I'll usually keep a spare at the office and in my laptop bag. Also works to keep a copy of music or movie collections to watch / listen on the road, etc.

Don't listen to these others telling lies, I've dealt with 100s of these drives and one never broke on me. They do get hot but so what? Just don't yank them out with pliers like others seem to do to break them. Samsung are better but almost double the price, so these are the best budget option.

Don't Buy is my advice. These tiny drives of this size overheat and fail. Been there, did that.

Does anybody know if Best Buy price matches Amazon? I'm thinking not, but I have a $5 rewards to use there and wouldn't mind using it for this if there's any way. It shows as $28 there.

As long as it's shipped & sold by amazon, yes -

In store would give you the better success. They'll match it online via chat, but the way they do it is to send you an invoice to pay, rather than a normal checkout, so you can't use your rewards certs.

If you buy first and then price-adjust, you risk them messing with your reward certificate since they look at the "you only paid $xxx via credit card"

In-store they'll price match and let you use your certificate
