We bought this TV when it was the #1 budget buy from Rtings. It's not a bad TV if you get a good one, but there's some things to keep in mind.

Pros

Great price.
Excellent black levels.
The Roku experience is familiar and very easy to use.
Cons

There's a burnt out LED section at the bottom of the screen, so bright scenes have a big shadowy dead spot a few inches in size. Showed up after a year and we've just lived with it.
There's some odd yellowy shadowing along the left and right sides several inches wide and the entire top to bottom.
Like all Roku TVs you get a basic, Fischer Price child's remote with few buttons and little functionality.
There's no way to see the current resolution and refresh rate when using any native Roku apps. This can only be done for inputs like HDMI.
The app store is severely lacking compared to an Android based TV.
Some things are very laggy like apps. Roku menus are generally snappy. This is expected for the price, but something to be aware of.
60Hz does not work as well as a native 120Hz TV when it comes to motion smoothing. I get a lot of stutters, blurry pans, etc with this TV despite the settings used. I specifically bought this because Rtings said this was one of the best TVs to eliminate blur and stutters, but this may only apply to 24fps content. Basically nothing on Youtube or any other popular apps.

Ok so not this one? I need a monitor/smart tv for the garage. Monitor is the main usage, not sure I need 120 but I do watch movies in there as well.

Best buy had been selling a 65 lg with 120hz for this price, not silly.
and I going to bet you lose some screen performance...contrast ratio, brightness, color accuracy, panel uniformity etc in a $499 65" 120hz TV

Pick your preferences that you lose in a cheap 120hz TV

Unless you want to give up things like color accuracy, panel uniformity, contrast and brightness to get that 120hz...your choice
