3.0 out of 5 stars Good when on sale, but have had multiple failures.

from Amazon reviews - Cameras are pretty decent and probably the best camera for the price. (I never pay more than about $32 each) Just know that 24/7 recording is only at 1080p, and the motion clips are 2K. The auto night vision is kinda annoying. There's no setting to leave them on, only Auto on or off. So, I constantly hear clicking when they can't decide if the light should be on or off. Super annoying. I have purchased and set these (all styles of Eufy) up for multiple family members and friends. Most are happy, especially for the cost compared to dedicated systems that require a HD. The down side, I've had multiple die for no reason. The ones that failed in the first year were replaced by Eufy for free, but the ones outside were just trashed. I've had 4 failures in the 25+ I've purchased. Two of which failed before a year.

I need just one to monitor another 3D printer, so I'll wait for the $25—30 range

This is the lowest price I've seen for the 2 pack.

There's 100 threads on here about each economy brand of camera (Ring, Wyze, Blink, etc) but after trying almost every brand, I have had *literally* almost 20 of these Eufy cameras (as well as the pan/tilt version) for several years (several covered outdoors) with no issues. App can sometimes be slow to load live video and iPhone app doesn't let you zoom as much as Android, but really my only complaints.

24/7 recording with micro SD card (most valuable aspect to me)
Detects people and animal separately (versus general motion alerts)
Fine quality, great night vision

I was liking this camera but it has started missing motion events lately.

Eufy has made significant changes to its apps and web portal lately, probably driven by the recent fuss over their security.

Live view is now far less convenient via the web portal as it has to be repeatedly authorized via the app. Event viewing has been removed completely from the portal - customers are paying for cloud subscriptions specifically to support this functionality.

It's hard to say what other functionality issues may be related to all the recent changes (presumably both client and back-end).

Ya I would probably consider wyze but I don't want multiple apps.

I had three of these cameras and after the security issues eufy had I decided to remove them. Eufy hasn't come forward with a solution and have changed their wording on some of the features. I have eufy outdoor cameras, which will also be replaced. Stay away if you care about your privacy.

Yeah I'm far less concerned about the security "issue" than I am about the changes Anker is making to their software to address it - likely rushed changes that haven't been tested properly and have other unintended consequences. I'll be leaving my eufy doorbells and bullet cam in place.

There are two kinds of smart home security companies IMHO - those that have had security issues exposed and those that will have security issues exposed in the future - I'll take my chances with my existing hardware and eufy getting the issues worked out rather than rush out and replace what I have.
