Ignorant comment here. It completely depends on the series. TCL's 5 and 6 series sets are great values and have nice pictures.

4 series had a very dim picture. OK if you turn off all the lights or cover all the windows. But glare was a huge problem due to how dim it was. It also died 2.5 years out (LED backlight).
5 series has a much better picture and is twice as bright. Its no OLED or top tier QLED but I am overall happy with the picture. Also no 120hz just 60 with VRR.
Longevity, who knows. It will probably die again after 2 years but this time I bought a 5 year warranty.
For $370 I think this is a good deal and worth the extra money over 4 series.

ive had a 5 series for 2 years, noticeably better picture. the 5 series is a really good deal for the money.
i kinda want a 65" 5 series, since mine are smaller than that.
