I take one star away for the (3) USB ports not being smart/controllable on these units.
They would be better if you could turn the USB ports ON/OFF smartly too, like on the APC smart strips.

Main problem with these powerstrip deals are the USB ports are basically near outdated. USB-A is very quickly being overtaken by USB-C because they can pump more wattage through them. I think USBA maxes out around 18-20 watts. USBC maxes out at 240 watts as of today. I saw wireless chargers doing 50 watts on the new generation phones. I cannot buy these USBA deals and think I'll want to see this in my home in 5 years.

I agree that the USB ports are the weak part but one thing that makes this interesting that each port can be monitored individually and controlled individually.

No, they can't. Only the standard plugs can.

Actually they can.
I have 4 of them and each one of the 6 main ports can be controlled individually, either locally by pressing a button, or remotely through the Kasa app, or Alexa, etc. Morover each port is showing its instant energy consumption on the Kasa app, and it's compatible with the Sense energy monitoring system.

I'm not disagreeing with you about the 6 main plug ports. I'm talking about the USB ports, in response to the earlier comment about the USB ports being controllable.

I use these in my print farm and all six outlets are controllable AND track power usage. 6 of the equivalent Kasa KP115 smart plugs are $12.99 each ($77.96 for 6) down from $19.99 (what I paid, $119.94 for 6 as of 2 weeks ago).

For a controllable, full monitoring power strip with certified surge suppression, it's a steal. 🤷

Since I just bought 2 more 2 weeks ago for $64.99 from Amazon, I'm rebuying and returning.

I guess it depends on your use case, but I give 0 cares for the USB ports as that's not what I use them for. But, for grins and giggles, can you show me a single controllable smart USB C power distribution system, let alone just a multi USB C charger putting out more than 100W total across all USB ports? I don't find anything but dumb models putting out 40W, 65W, and 100W total, and the reputable ones like Anker GaN aren't cheap. You're knocking a good product for lacking features no other dumb or smart consumer surge suppressor has. 🤣
