Hold the line for what? Cards aren't going to drop like you dummies think they will. You guys have been saying that for at least 5 months and cards haven't dropped much lower than this. How long are people expected to hold? Do you just plan on saying that for another year or two, and then being like, "See. Told you."?
You do realize my comment was in jest...correct? Note the alternating capitalization, quotation markets, and winking face.

LOL, clearly I agree with you.

Eh it's Newegg, I haven't wasted my time with them since 2009. Really is the worst customer service

The big red flag for me is:

Return Policies
Return for refund within: Non-refundable

Return for replacement within: 30 days

This item is covered by Newegg.com's Replacement Only Return Policy

230W TPD with a suggested 650W power supply. Use a power supply calculator if your are concerned.

It will work, but this card is major overkill for a 4690K. I would not get it unless you are planning on upgrading the rest of the system soon. If you just want to find a GPU that will max out your existing system you don't need to spend this much.

It uses 2 8-pin power connectors.

"Hold the line" comment is obviously for someone that don't need a GPU right now.
If you really need a GPU now, you would have bought it already at the price that you feel acceptable. Intel already announced lower price on their GPU. AMD and nVidia will eventually feel the same way, and it's not because of some SDer holding the line, but the way the economy is heading towards a recession. At the end of the day, price is still determined by supply and demand.

If the last 2 years haven't taught you anything, nothing will. Truth is predicting the future even the near future is pointless. Remember back in August and September prople were saying how prices would keep lowering, but instead they actually went UP? How many people accurately predicted that?

Remember when 4090 was announced, and Nvidia prices shot up over night? Made no sense until you found out Nvidia was intentionally controlling supply of the 3XXX cards. Then we found out AMD is doing the same thing.

We cannot predict whats going to happen even in a recession. Maybe another Tariff will occur, maybe we have another chip shortage. Who knows. Maybe stock will run out before prices fall substantially again.

The price of these cards will likely drop some more given long term historical trends of GPU prices, but probably not worth the extra time you gotta wait. Maybe I'm completely wrong but thats my point. Everything we are saying is no more than complete conjecture.

Of course not. Historical prices will never dictate future prices. No one would use prices from the past 2 years to estimate the current price trend. Knowing the economy and society is much different now than it was 2 years ago, or even 6 months ago. GPU manufacturers might have the ability to control supply, but the consumers are the ones that control the demand.
