I'll be waiting for the 13th gen ultra-low voltage tech in the form of the new Intel N200 chip with 8gb DDR5. Should be able to get something in the next 3-4 months.

Surfaces in general are more expensive for the hardware compared to other brands for the most part. Admittedly, I'll never understand why (I owned a Surface Go 1 and it didn't impress me any more than other tablets of the time). I have a Lattepanda Alpha and a Chromebook with this exact hardware configuration and they work great (even have the LP-A set up as a small server), but the Chromebook was $100 bucks a few months ago and the Lattepanda Alpha was $400 back in Oct 2018.
Q3 of '18 for the processor, but this is was absolute tail end of DDR3 production, which was originally introduced in 2007. DDR4 was released in 2014. IIRC, the reason DDR3 was around for so much longer is that it was much lower power consumption comparatively. I'm just thinking it's a bit odd to be selling machines with DDR3 in 2023 for over $200, even a Surface, but MS does what it wants I guess. They want to be the Apple of their own OS.

Is it backlit? Can't tell from listing.
I prefer a real Windows browser when web surfing.
The browsing experience is just not the same with "mobile" browser, even when you specify "desktop" versions of sites. Browsing on an ipad or my S7+ is just not the same on certain sites. This is running true windows.
