These hardly ever go on sale, so this may be important for people who want the Energy Monitoring feature. You can pull the data using
TP-Link PlugExporter [github.com] and feed that data into a Grafana dashboard.
This model has historically been $23 regular price, looks like they recently reduced that to $20.

I checked the four pack and confirmed it does NOT have energy monitoring, so no go, but there was an Amazon "there's a newer version" link further down the page.
Kasa Smart Plug Mini 15A, Apple HomeKit Supported, Smart Outlet Works with Siri, Alexa & Google Home, No Hub Required, UL Certified, App Control, Scheduling, Timer, 2.4G WiFi Only, 4-Pack (EP25P4) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B14C719T
This is a 4-pack of Kasa Mini Smart Plugs that are HomeKit compatible for $42.21.
The camels show this has been around since June and regularly bounced between $40, $45, and $50 every couple of weeks.
I have a $5 clickable coupon that should bring the price down to $37.21, which is below the all-time low. $9.30 each for a newer (possibly better) version of you want four.
I run SmartThings and would much rather have Zigbee (hub-based) devices, but I was going to get one of these.
I just recently got a smart electric meter with time-of-day electricity pricing and want to learn more about my usage patterns.
None of these are compatible with Matter, the new industry standard to let smart devices interoperate.
I did a little looking at TP-Link's site, and it looks like they just launched a new Matter-compatible smart plug.
TP-Link Tapo Matter Compatible Smart Plug Mini, Compact Design, 15A/1800W Max, Super Easy Setup, Works with Apple Home, Alexa & Google Home, UL Certified, 2.4G Wi-Fi Only, White, Tapo P125M https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BNWGZ545
It's $19.99 on Amazon, but there's a 20% Off code on TP-Link's web site. If you enter code 20MATTER in Amazon's cart, you'll get the new plug for $16. It appears to work on any quantity.
TP-Link has lots of new devices planned to work with Matter. I might get one or two of these Tapo Matter-compatible smart plugs to play with. A $3 premium ($16 vs $13) over this Kasa seems like a reasonable price for a (hopefully) future-proof product.
I think I've talked myself out of getting either of these Kasa plugs, but they could still be a great buy for others.

Bought two of the 4-packs. I have two crappy smart plugs with energy monitoring but can't export the data. Hopefully the data on these is granular enough so that I can measure cost considering I have different rates at different times of day.
I'd rather use something z-wave but those hardly go on sale. Hmm...

I don't want a device that needs to communicate to a server just to turn on/off, want to run with my own home automation server/scripts.
Does this KASA KP115 do that?
Looks like matter devices need a (in-house) matter server?

You're better off going with a ZigBee or z-wave plug.

Happens all the time with my myq HomeKit compatible garage opener. I've also got a dedicated iPad as a home hub that just stays plugged in the same spot all day long. Many times HomeKit shows MYQ is unresponsive but the MYQ app shows is connected with the MYQ unit.

Come to think of it, I've had one issue with an Echo Show not triggering a routine when it motion detects me coming in to my home office and turns on a couple overhead lights controlled by TP-Link dimmers - but I figure that's more related to the Echo Show than the switches, but still working on it.
