Seems like a warm deal, but you're going to need serious cooling for a 5800x - they run hot.

You can get a thermalright peerless assassin for about $40 or a 240mm aio that is decent for less than $100. If you throw in some $60 ram and a 6700xt for $350ish you have the core of a very capable system for under $1000

Is this a good deal? You get an X570 (high end) motherboard on a platform that will get no future releases. A B650 (AM5) motherboard is going to have similar features and can be had for under $200 these days. If you live near a Microcenter you can get a 7600X + 32 GB RAM bundle and have a full CPU/RAM/mobo set for $450, which will outperform this 5800X, burn less power, and not be a dead-end in terms of upgrade path.

Even if you don't live near a Microcenter, wouldn't you rather spend 10% more and make it up on the lower energy bills and have some peace-of-mind being on the new platform, allowing a less expensive upgrade in the future?

Yes.
Also, keep in mind the 7600 is basically as good at a 7600X, saving you money and you get a decent air cooler as well.

Good deal, if it only was the 3D version of the 5800x I would be tempted to buy the bundle.

This is a lukewarm deal and I expect prices on these to continue to free fall as AMD tries to clear out inventory. Although AMD has somewhat rosier outlook than Intel, they both aren't doing too hot right now. Incoming clearance sales!!

I am near a micro center. I don't see that on the combos? The 7600s comes with 16gb and no mobo? Can you link it for me?

Also what are your thoughts on the 7900x/b650e-f/32gb combo for 599 in comparison to what you're referring to

this is a warm deal at best. maybe 6-8 months ago the 11900k and msi meg z590s were selling for 349 with an mw2 code. that's basically the same permeance as a 5800x. either board is end of life. buying last gen now seems pointless with the 7700x and 136-13700k bundles selling at really attractive prices

that it would be much better money spent than this deal. 5800x is a last gen product. if this bundle was $269 it would be a deal. where it is, buy your 7900x

I'm looking for a deal on a 5800X3D, can anyone with experience with AMD life cycles take a guess on when and how much I might expect to see these go for? I don't want to miss out on EOL entirely and have to hunt on fleabay.

under-volt it, about 1.25v, runs fast and much cooler than stock

the issue is finding the chips. the 11700k and 11900k went on clearance over 6 months ago. a new 11700k on ebay is 280 and used $230 even if you get a 590 at $100 you're at $330. there have been z690 / 12700k packages sub 400 fairly often. lot more for your money. the 11.7 and 11.9 chips are fine but really trail in multitasking vs 12th gen +
