If you prefer the C535 versus the C545 being sold at Costco for $20 more, you can use coupon SAVE10 to bring down the refurbished C535 to $80.99 + tax and it comes with free shipping. Unfortunately, it does not work on the C545 but may work on other models.

How does this one compare to the model at Costco? or are they the same and costco just have their custom model number? Also - do you know approx how much the replacement filters are? thanks!!

I saw Costco selling one looking very similar for $100 yesterday. Are there any differences? I might even prefer Costco and paying $20 more in case something goes bad..

Actually found it

"Many features of Winix c535 and c545 are same but the winix c535 comes with 3 stage filtration system, but Winix c545 have a four stage filtration system that increase the efficiency of air cleaning. Actually both have the same filters like pre-filter,activated carbon filter, HEPA filter, and Winix plasma wave technology. But the difference is Winix C535 comes with a carbon coated pre-filter that is not efficient for household odors, cooking smells and paint odors. If you want an air purifier that effeciently clean the bad smells and odors then the winix c545 is best for you."

From what I understand the 535 is a tad bit bigger and has no wifi ( but comes with remote ). Also slightly cheaper aftermarket filters. I don't care for the wifi feature and would prefer a remote instead. The Costco 545 deal is not bad however as it comes with the Costco return policy.

This just doesn't make much sense. The c545 is also a "carbon coated pre-filter".

Not blaming you, just wondering where you found this quote?

Edit: I think I found the page, and it looks like just a fake computer generated "review". If you look at the replacement filters from Winix, they look identical. Winix is calling the C535 "3-stage plus Plasmawave", but with the c545 they're counting the Plasmawave as the 4th stage. Both of them have a screen pre-filter, carbon filter, and hepa filter.

The only differences appear to be that the c535 is slightly bigger with more capacity, but it does not have the wifi and app features that the c545 does.

I have a c545, and although I deleted the app and disabled the wifi long ago, it was super nice to set up a schedule for it to ramp up and down at certain times.

OSS but from someone that has one of these and two of the Costco C545s...this is the better model. It was quieter new vs new and it's about 4 years old now and still quiet. Both Costco C545s started making noise after one year, one is so loud I turn it off if I am in the room. Reading reviews it seems like a common problem on the C545 (they use a different fan/motor than the C535 and filters and everything totally different models/seem like they are made cheaper). All have been running non-stop since new and all in the same house.

The c545 is a Costco exclusive model I believe.

These are also much lower volume products than Televisions
