This is the company that marketed a "cloud-free" "completely private" video product, and uploaded our videos and photos without consent to a remote server. They tagged the videos with facial recognition, and didn't ever delete the videos, even when you deleted them in their software.

Anker/Eufy are scumbag companies, and you shouldn't support them.

That you know of. People didn't think the cameras they bought had cloud connectivity.

At the end of the day, you're giving money to company that steals user data. If supporting companies with strong privacy policies doesn't matter to you, then by all means, have your charger. But people should know what they're supporting.

True but this is a dual-port charger. It's still handy to have a small plug with USB-A and USB-C connectivity. There are many "current" devices out there that won't charge C to C, only A to C.

IF you used cloud storage, that might have occurred, but the systems I have for Anker "Eufy" dump their video to a small 16gb "server" in my house. No cloud uploading occurring here. Despite the news, the hardware has been quite reliable and I have had zero issues, they even self updated their firmware. None of these systems are perfect. And I am not a national defense contractor. So really if someone wants to see a squirrel at my front door, more power to them.
