My NAS is equipped with WD RE drives and looks like they're discontinued? Is this Red Pro considered to be equivalent to the old RE or is the WD Gold? The RE was advertised as datacenter drive I believe.
$15.6/TB isn't great, right? I guess it is if you only have 2 slots and need lots of storage.
These are about $5 off from the $310 easy store pricing from last December, and are guaranteed Reds with no need to shuck. Maybe not amazing but better than retail
Was able to get a gold 18TB + sn770 1tb for $300 not too long ago from WD directly. The sale isn't going right now, but FYI as to where this deal might stand.

If you only consider $/TB then it's not amazing.
But if you factor in the 5-year warranty it's pretty good.
