Unfortunately the Kasa products I have seem to struggle with keeping connection to our mesh WiFi, even though connection is good for everything else. Don't know if it's a problem across their products or only a few models, but based on my experience I cannot recommend them.

This is probably because a mesh network pushes 5GHz and 2.4GHz. The Kasa devices need to be on 2.5GHz only to work. You router may allow for you to make another wireless network that is only 2.4 and you can put all your IOT devices on it.

I set up mine 5 months ago, zero issues. I have about 15 KASA products at home. Light switches, outlets, plugs etc

This would make sense if I didn't have other devices that are 2.4Ghz only that work fine. I'm not saying they are bad products for everyone, just giving my experience.

I've noticed that 2.4 Ghz is more fickle probably because of interference issues, lower frequencies actually have more range but the spectrum is crowded

Actually took advantage of this because I needed more plugs and the price seemed right with the Prime cash back. Let's hope there are no connection issues 😊

I have eero pro mesh routers and have never had one issue with all of my kasa switches or plugs, and I have over 25 of them in service as of right now..

I've also had good experience with Kasa, they're cheap and I have a lot so I don't have to mess with too many apps: switches, plugs, and outlets and they all work fine on separate SSID for my IOT devices. No issues. WeMo on the other hand was a nightmare

Kinda bummed only some items support HomeKit natively and only their separate product line will support Thread/Matter natively.

Haven't looked into HomeAssistant app yet.

It's the way you are set up. Kasa products have no problem keeping a connection with normal router

I'm not sure about keeping connection but my plugs came today and it was really easy install. Downloaded the Kasa app and it auto detected Alexa and connected and configured it all for me, including firmware updates. So far much easier than some of the other "smart" devices I've had to connect.
