I'm in the process of fixing mine right now but it's been running about 2 1/2 years just fine. turn it off when not in use I suspect the power supply just failed.

What is a 6ms monitor good for? I don't even think I could move my cursor without getting angry at the ghosting.

6ms is the frame time at 165hz. It's practically imperceptible at that framerate.
