"The P3, like the P3 Plus, is capable of using all of its native QLC in a single-bit pSLC mode. This allows for a cache up to about 550GB. Once it runs out of cache the P3 is forced to free up space by copying data from pSLC to QLC which slows it down greatly; the write speed plummets from 3.2 GBps to 100 MBps."

I think that's a new low for this.

The P3 Plus 4tb is also down to $225 (previous low was $249 IIRC).

800 TBW is pretty low for a 4TB drive. I'm guessing this is not TLC?

Anyone know the speed on large transfers after the cache is saturated? I've been running into issues with hitting that limit on drives and then the performance becomes an issue.

800 TBW / 1825 days warranty = 0.438 TBW per day.

Good way to look at it. I'd have used 438GBW per day instead.

I can't imagine many use cases writing 438 gigabytes a day to a drive, unless it's in a server serving tons of network requests - in which case I'd never use such a drive anyway.

Does the cache reset itself after some time, or once it's used up you are limited to low performance speed.?
