But based on the picture, the countertop seems to be using a lot of those cheap materials, however, they claim this can support 220lb, then it must be very durable. But well, for 48, there is nothing to lose as they also offer you a 1-year warranty, plus free shipping. I will imagine the shipping cost will be more than 20 for the company.
You can barely get a table at Ikea of this size or anywhere for this price.
Note that 24 inches is not very wide. Sometimes people want 28 or larger in depth. It is up to your own call.

This is great for laptops imo.
This beats alot of the crap on offerup and the thrift shop where everyone is throwing out their old desk from the 80s...
and this comes with a cup holder and power adapter pass through.

I do a lot of writing on the table so I need it to be sturdy.Thank you
The desk itself is fine and sturdy, but a bit small. It does wobble a tiny bit. the extensions wobble a bunch - too much. They are junk. The desk would be fine for a child or someone not really needing a desk, The hieight of the keyboard tray is much too low for me. Be certain to plan for a way to raise the entire desk so it is comfortable to you.
In the end, I picked up a $99 Sawyer (put-together-your-self) particle-board desk with a side cabinet, media holders for DVD/CDROMs and a bottom file-folder drawer. It is 25 yrs old now and even with the fake veneer, looks fine if you don't look under the keyboard where the scrapes from different keyboards over the last 25 yrs have worn through the veneer.
OTOH, this has a cup holder, so how bad can it be? Black will show dust, of course.
If you have a laptop, do yourself a favor and get a USBc dock device, a real monitor, real keyboard and mouse. Something cheap like this: https://www.amazon.com/Docking-St...B0B1PT5FVM Plug in the laptop on a nearby shelf and use the laptop with the full-sized human-use KVM (keyboard, video, mouse). There's a reason that people don't work full time at cafes and coffee places. You need more space to be productive, though getting out with just the laptop for a few hours to be "around" others can be good for productivity too. Just not all the time.
This might make a good top, if you want to add 12 inches to each side... or cut off 24 and have a matching square topper for a side table/filing cabinet/whatevs.

They were around long before standing desks. I had an old school desk from the 90s that's just two piece of iron T shape legs and a single wood tabletop. That thing was built so solid you can drop it off a pickup at 60 miles per hour and it holds up just fine. Too bad I moved out of state and had to get rid of it.
