The garage is much hotter than indoor. "Garage ready" means the refrigerator has proper (extra) insulations to make it rum properly and efficiently in the garage.

It's probably up to the manufacturer to specify if they want to list garage ready as a spec. Costco lists it on some stand-alone freezers. Maybe fridges too? I don't get the point of buying a brand new garage refrigerator as you can buy plenty second hand for $0-100 and it's in the garage likely holding sealed beverages.

"Garage ready" which means it is tested to perform from 38Ā°F to 110Ā°F. Recommended for regions where the garage temps could go high in summer or low during the winter months.

Poor quality control. Make sure you test thoroughly and be prepared to swap for one that can keep the proper temps. Third time was a charm for me.

Has trouble maintaining temp

Also check door gaskets for leaks.

God I miss when you could buy used fridges for a couple hundred on Facebook marketplace in my area. That all changed after the pandemic which is when my last garage fridge went out Frown. Now I never see anything under 3-400.
