No disrespect to this thread but this amount of nectar can be made with a total of 6 cups of sugar (1/2 cup in 2 cups water is the prescribed recipe).

I know sugar is an object of greedflation in stores, but still not near $7 for 6 cups.

Just food/nectar for thought!
