Look at the price of the filters before buying! We bought two L50s that use the same ones as the L60 and two tiny, flimsy filters costs $20 and since their surface area is so small they clog up fast. Decent vacuums but the filters costs are much higher than our prior robot vacs and there are no generics available. They clearly intend to bleed their customers on consumable parts like filters. We regret buying them because of this.

For $5 more, you get the two filters, two pre-filters, roller bar, side brushes etc. https://www.walmart.com/ip/RoboVac-replacement-accessories-kit-for-L50-Series/5153678007 [walmart.com]

The problem is you are going to need many many filters before you need those other things. Once you see the tiny little filters and thin squares of sponge pre filter, you will see just how ridiculously overpriced the filters are. My prior robot vacs had bigger, more robust filters with more surface area so they lasted longer and were much cheaper too. I seriously regret buying the Eufy vacuums. The filter cost makes them a poor value for my family. It isa shame because they are otherwise decent with just a poor access design for the dust bin but I wish I had thought to check filter prices before buying two of them. Hopefully generic filters will be available soon on Amazon.

Which robo vac do you recommend under $500. Must have mapping and don't need self cleaning.

I was very happy with my Ecovacs robot but not my Neato. They both had navigation but the Neato shape got stuck often. The Ecovacs was five years old and still performing great but the navigation made it slightly too tall to go under some furniture. That is why I switched to these. If generic filters were available or brand name remotely reasonable, I would say the Eufy is a solid choice at this price point although the L50 is even cheaper at $144 from Walmart. Filters will chew up that savings though. My recommendation is to look for one well rated and check the replacement filter prices. Also if you don't need self cleaning, look for how you empty the dust bin. This one is placed in the front and clips awkwardly under the front and even verbally warns you to check it is in correctly. The placement makes sense for self cleaning but a traditional flip top access is easier if you don't buy self emptying. This one has the option to add self cleaning charger but it doubles the cost and then you are stuck buying expensive Eufy bags too. So I personally do not plan to add self emptying. I have never replaced brush rollers etc. often on any brand as they do not wear out fast…focus on filter price. This one has low surface area and clogs up quickly. I hope this helps. For an inexpensive nav entry model, the quirks are not deal breakers but filter price is. Hope generics come out soon since we now own two!

Are the filters not washable? I've washed mine, maybe i wasn't suppose to. Agree, they are expensive for what you get but it being a newer model, I would anticipate knock-offs to be available soon.

The filter material doesn't appear washable so I have been washing just the thin sponge pre filter by hand and vacuuming the paper one with a bush attachment. If generics come out, I will generally like the vacuum because it is thin enough to go under more furniture than my prior nav models and doesn't get stuck. The awkward dust bin location isn't a deal breaker. Hoping for all of us who now own them generic filters come out soon or Eufy decides to stop gouging. I contacted them and their response did not make me hopeful they plan to change their pricing but generics usually do come out eventually. Glad I did not buy the self emptying model because their expensive bags have no generics either. At least I am just stuck with expensive filters until knock offs come out. The dumb thing is I would happily buy Eufy ones if they were even remotely reasonable. Here is hoping for generics soon!

Somewhat concerning that the customer service rep took 10 mins to "research", but chat response was "Yes, the filter can be washed with water, but please be noted that you need to let the filter completely dry out before you re-install it. You may refer to this video for L50 and L60 maintainess:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zUk6E7KQeG4"

My response was to try to upsell me on the kit with more replacement parts. I am skeptical about these surviving washing but I will try that while waiting for a generic option. They do vacuum off pretty well. Just on principle I will not pay $20 for two of these flimsy little filters. We have been using robot vacs for 5 years and this is our fourth brand and absolutely the worst in terms of filter costs. Next time I will not order a vacuum before finding out consumable part prices and won't buy from Eufy at all. Your experience is as poor with them as mine was. It is a shame because it is generally a decent entry level mapping vac with just an annoying dust bin but definitely not worth the filter costs or poor customer service. Hope yours wash well enough to avoid buying them from Eufy. Generics will hopefully come soon.
