Pretty soon this game will be $1-3 or bundled. I try it then as it does look amusing in short bursts.
It's so sad. This game is really fun. But as of like 2 months ago, it was swarmed by cheaters and there's hasn't been a game update since. My first day there was over 100,000 players. Yesterday at 5pm, there was 2000. Now, there's 5000 and half of those are cheaters.

This game was a blast last summer I logged about 40-50 hours but haven't touched it since it dropped off. It was such a fun game in its prime. I read they basically nerfed sniper classes and made the game super boring and twitchy to play.

The declining point was when they rolled out the ability to join custom servers and included it as a default option.
This made it so you would get a lot of crappy servers with no moderation and weird game modes intermingled with the official ones running vanilla gameplay.
I have nothing against custom servers. But when your playerbase is already small, you really shouldn't be sending half of it to poor representations of your game.
Imagine if the first map you ever played on Counter Strike was surf. That's basically what they were subjecting people to if the user wasn't selecting "official servers only".
At the same time, they really didn't make the custom server software accessible or provide a tutorial for it, so it's not like anyone could just fire up a server for their friends on a whim.
On top of all that, I'm frustrated that they never fixed the LOD issue with the sniper rifle and trees. Basically, the detail level of trees that were completely outside of the map boundary were set too high when zoomed in on the scope, leading to major performance drops.
This game had a lot of promise, but they somehow attracted too many CoD players and not enough BF players, and the development decisions show it.
It can't be worse than battlefield 2042. My bits are ready for battle!
BF2042 in 2024 is a far superior product than this. 2042 has very few cheaters unlike this where cheating is rampant, a new update just hit (this hasn't been updated since before Christmas), better graphics making it easier on the eyes for longer sessions, better map design as Battlebit just grinds to a halt at 2-3 bottlenecks on most maps and just a more overall organized tone. Battlebit wants to be a fun arcadey game and then you take damage and it becomes almost milsim-like for healing and bleeding out.
Battlebit was just fun at launch due to the VOIP mic and large lobby size. It has no legs, the only reason it keeps receiving praise is Reddit warriors love it, but Reddit warriors also game one hour a week making it a game on the way out. Normally their player counts would be fine, but the big selling point is the large match size, which is a problem with their numbers.
I have about 1,000 hours on 2042 and 50 hours on this.

I knew I was getting shot through walls all the time, I just got this to give it a try. Now I'm returning it
