Musician's Friend has the Epiphone Les Paul Traditional Pro IV In Worn Gold for $399. On backorder, but available for order. In stock and ready to ship. Shipping is free. 8% Musician's Friend rewards (about $32) apply.

The "worn" finish is more matte than anything; there's no relic-ing or such.

This price has been offered on and on over the past year, but the worn gold color is currently available. IMHO, it's probably the best deal on the nicer Epiphone Les Pauls, i.e., the ones with a set neck, carved top, good pickups, and coil splitting. The satin neck really gives it a different feel from the typical glossy Epiphone neck.

Probably could be used to price match at a Guitar Center or other local retailer.

Make sure you understand what kind of finish this has before buying from the internet. It doesn't look like the picture.

It's a matte gold. Looks nice, but you're right that it's not a shiny gold.

It's more than just matte vs glossy. It reminds me of the paint job on Ikea furniture that's trying to look "antique" or "rustic".

I'm sure there are people out there who really enjoy that style and would like this. It's just not what the pictures look like.

I didn't find it rustic in the store. Just matte. The neck is open pore but satin and smooth.

I bought the original Traditional Pro in Shiny Gold for $299 many years ago. It's a nice guitar. I enjoy it, but like all Lesters, heavy......

My 2019 Epi Standard Pro, basically equivalent to the GC-specific Trad Pro IV, weighs in at 8.5 lb. That's not bad at all. That's right at what Fender Player Telecasters weigh according to the current inventory at Sweetwater.

Maybe it's the size. The Epi is a small guitar so maybe the perceived weight seems disproportionate to it's size. But it is lighter than my G&L Tribute Tele....that thing is HEAVY.

The Classic Vibe 50's Tele I tried weighed in at over 10 lbs! I returned it. Pine bodies are a "no from me, dawg" thing now.
