There's so many choices so it's best to do your own research and learn the differences and what works best for you. Don't forget about a camera to record behind you, just as important. I was rear ended and the other drivers insurance company was giving me shit until I offered to email them my rear camera footage.
For those of you that can drive without being on your phone there are free apps that turn your phone into a driving DVR that are great. Daily roads voyager is my fave.
