7 comments and not a single one about the deal itself. Basically not a deal. The 2017 MBP is now EOL and not supported by Apple. "Legacy" they call it.

Not to mention this is only 8GB RAM on an Intel-based MacBook. Honestly, I can't see one good aspect of this deal.

Hard to tell if they actually changed the battery since 2017 if not then that's gonna be rough with like low battery capacity and a battery drain with an i5 compared to m1 for twice the price

Cost to repair and labor will net you a new m1 from costco anyways so this is lukewarm unless you have experience with older macbook airs and prefer butterfly switches over scissor switches and don't have reliability issues with screen flex cable and keyboard

Don't think it's legacy but just unsupported cause of the new chassis and entire motherboard being SOC and logic board like an iphone but that doesn't mean it can't get software updates and that's what people think they need most is the time

If they cared about hardware they wouldn't look at the mba at all to begin with let alone not have any option for ram upgrade for $200

Either way, it's not a good way to spend money on something that has very little (if any) support. At the very least, no repairs and it can't run the latest OS.
