Sam's [samsclub.com] is selling a 48V lead acid version (which seems to be a previous model) for $3200.

How much cheaper though? These aren't in B&M stores, so you won't see big manager markdowns to clear floor space. My guess is these ship from the manufacturer, which probably isn't going to have a fire sale.

Pretty good deal, but it was probably for the older model with lead acid batteries .

After researching this looks to be a Ryobi 480 clone with LifePo4 battery. That's me guessing based on the same frame and control panel. There's a few of these now for 30" too.

The biggest complaint with Ryobi model is/was lead acid batteries, which are well documented online of having severe deterioration after 3 years. I can't tell if the 38" Ryobi is even being sold anymore? Anyway YouTube is filled with people swapping the batteries out of the Ryobi with the LifePo4 batteries. People seem to really like the mower, except the lead acid batteries.

Bundle LFP battery out the gate with Costco as the seller, I think this is good option. I pulled the trigger.

Been looking for a riding mower, anybody have this thing and can weigh in?

Wondering if it's worth paying someone this season and waiting until the end of the year to grab something

I've got a Ryobi rm480e, which is the predecessor to this. Only had it for 6 months, but it's great. I ditched the lead acid batteries for a 50ah LifePo4. Very happy.

I got it used for $600. Battery and charger were $580. I'd buy used.

Can't vouch for all of their products. But I got their 110 volt brushless trimmer a couple of years ago and it's garbage compared to ego. My ego is going strong for 6 years, I got Yard force because it was supposed to be a lot more powerful. This spring the motor smoked after the first 15 minutes of use.
