I wasn't sure it was fake since my only comparison is my 2009 USA made Zing and so I don't have a baseline for a genuine Chinese made Zing (apparently all zings are made in China now).

Edit: Even the metal the clip is made out of gets bent out just from pulling on it enough to clip onto some fabric. Just horrible, I don't think it's the fact that it's made in China or even shipped directly from China, it has the same cheap feel all around as another counterfeit I've gotten in the past. I doubt Kershaw would tolerate this quality even for China made ones.

I just looked at the box again and the sticker on it makes it very clear it's made by Yangjiang Hulhong Hardware Products Co. ltd, the word Kershaw doesn't even show on the barcode label that is on the box.
Pretty disappointed.
