You must really be panicking as an investor. This is the second ad um I mean thread you created to pump the model Y. Last one was what, -12? LOL and that one was $1K cheaper.

This is due to a government requirement of models and specs. If they receive higher capacity batteries for the packs they can't upgrade car specs on-the-fly without a new model variant registered. It's pretty dumb.
RWD is less capable, but if I go to remote places where AWD is desired, I won't be comfortable with an EV anyway. So the RWD seems a good idea. Less things to break and probably with a bit more range?

Personally I am stoked the Panasonic 2170 in my Q1 24' Fremont White RWD has ~80kwh capacity instead of 60kwh and I can charge up without much battery degradation. Down side is an AWD Austin LR Stealth Grey only costs $1,000 more.
